The Birth of NLP

In the early 1970’s, a world renowned linguist, John Grinder and a mathematician, Richard Bandler, joined forces to study how people who were outstanding in their chosen occupation achieved excellent results. Specifically they observed three exceptional therapists: Virginia Satir, a renowned family therapist, Milton Erickson, commonly known as the “father of hypnotherapy” and Fritz Perls who developed Gestalt therapy. From this NLP was born.

NLP is an understanding of how we do what we do and a selection of techniques to help us change unwanted behaviours.

NLP can help to achieve that which we truly desire and open up our futures to live happy and productive lives free from self imposed restrictions.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is an altered state that people experience each day.

 Hypnosis is a natural state, which all of us encounter every day of our lives.

If it weren’t for hypnosis, movies would be incredibly boring. We know that there is a camera man in front of the actors and that there is a director orchestrating the whole process. In order to enjoy the film we need to forget this and suspend reality so much so that we can be moved to tears by a bunch of actors playing make believe! That’s hypnosis.

It is in this state that the division between the conscious and the unconscious mind becomes blurred and we are more open to helpful suggestions and can make changes at an unconscious level. In other words, it is effortless as we do the change without consciously thinking about it.

A good therapist can assist you enter into hypnosis to help make positive and permanent change.

Past Life Regression

Throughout our lives we are constantly taking on board a massive amount of information and we use this information to keep us as happy and as safe as possible . We instinctively and UNCONSCIOUSLY avoid pain and seek pleasure. Simply put, something happens, we learn how to adapt to whatever it is, create a behaviour, then store this behaviour in our unconscious mind and whenever a similar situation occurs, we use this behaviour, automatically in to cope as best we can.

I believe that our souls are immortal, it is only our bodies that die and that we have had other earthly experiences prior to the one that we are living now. I am certain that we carry much, and arguably all, unconscious behaviour from one life to the next. Sometimes this behaviour may cause us problems. For example In a previous life one may have been short of food, but in this life, food is abundant in our culture so overeating and resulting obesity can be a problem. Fear from a previous life can lead to phobias and anxieties in this.

Past life regression is using hypnotherapy to access the unconscious mind to uncover events from previous lives so that they can be addressed to change unwanted behaviours in this life.
